Why Read At All ? by Lewis Baumer (1870-1963)

A portfolio of work from Punch cartoonist Lewis Baumer from 1909-1910. This is the kind of work that attracted me to the history of comics in the first place, scratchy pen and ink with deftly spotted blacks, great characters, elegant composition, and brilliantly observed mannerisms. Why Read At All ? was a six-part series lampooning the celebrated authors of the
Edwardian age.
